Mime Radio Show
Gregg Goldston has been a force in the mime world for almost five decades. He saw a performance by Marcel Marceau in 1975 and immediately began his pursuit of mime. Born in Los Angeles, Gregg first trained under Richmond Shepard in Hollywood. By 1979, he had opened his own mime studio, and began touring his solo shows throughout the western USA. In 1980, the Ohio Arts Council encouraged Gregg to relocate his school, where he continued teaching and touring his performances across the United States and internationally. In Ohio, the Goldston School hosted seminars by Marcel Marceau, who stated to the press: “Goldston is creating the first generation of American Mimes.”
In 1986, he created “The Invisible People,” a 7-member mime company that toured until 1997. Gregg was an assistant performer to Marcel Marceau during his 2000 to 2002 USA tours, and later performed lead roles during the final performances of the Marcel Marceau company. Gregg has lived in New York City since 2000, where he continues to perform and teach at his studio.
