Bob Francesconi is a master teacher of mime, mask and clowning.
He recently retired after 42 years teaching and directing at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, one of the world’s most distinguished drama schools. Before coming to UNCSA, Bob co-founded with James Donlon the celebrated Menagerie Mime Theater, touring and teaching nationally in the early ’70’s. Over the years he has been a featured master teacher at many international institutes in far-away places like Russia, Spain, and Singapore. 

He served on the selection committee for Fulbright and foreign sponsored scholarship awards, was appointed to the Gerald Freedman Endowed Chair, and has been recognized by the Thomas S. Kenan Institute for his Innovative Pedagogy in the Arts. Bob has nurtured and influenced generations and generations of successful professional actors of stage and screen. He is a unique master teacher in every sense of the word.
